Hilary Newhall CMLI - Official Plant List

Hillary Newhall CMLI, is delighted to share her plant list for her show garden at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.
About the Plants

All the plants within the garden are edible except the Star Jasmine (for medicinal use only), creating a relatively unique space with planting offering both stimulation, using tactile and fragrant plants, and calmer spaces.

The predominant colours of purple and yellow add visual appeal.

The kettle on the barbeque is for making herbal teas with herbs from the garden.

Key structural plants include Golden Chard, Double U form pear, Chicory.

I have incorporated the pear tree and climbing plants on the fencing next to the seat, emulating plants growing up the high walls of The Secret Garden.

Some planting is deliberately restrained, for sensory-avoidant individuals, whereas other areas are wilder for sensory-seeking people.
